My fillings are sensitive. What does that mean?
Sensitive fillings can cause levels of discomfort ranging from mildly annoying to downright painful. A wide range of causes can make a tooth become sensitive. If the tooth had recent dental work performed on it, it may be sensitive while the nerve calms down from the work. This may take a few days, or sometimes even a few weeks. If the tooth has an existing filling or crown and suddenly becomes sensitive, it may be a sign that something is wrong with the tooth. It is always best to contact your dentist as soon as possible when a tooth starts to bother you. Dr. Abramowski and the team at Southside Dental Center will take the time to sit down and discuss your situation and all of your options.
