When should I first bring my child to see the dentist?

We recommend you bring your child to see us as soon as they start getting their baby teeth but no later than age one. Dr. Abramowski and our team have lots of experience working with very young children to make sure they have a positive experience every time they visit us at our Monticello dental office. Starting your child with a positive view of dentistry is important because it sets the stage for a lifetime of proactive oral health care.

During the first visit, our goal is to meet your child and show them that visiting the dentist will be fun. Kids learn by example and if we can show them that these visits aren’t a big deal, they’ll respond accordingly. We’ll give them a ride in the chair, count their teeth, and show them how to hold a toothbrush properly.

We understand how important it is that we gradually get your child used to being around us in the office environment. Our professional team takes all the time necessary to treat your children with the special attention they need to help them feel safe and secure.

Your child’s first visit to the dentist is a big step in their young lives. Please contact our Monticello dental office and we’ll be happy to arrange a visit so you can get to know Dr. Abramowski and our caring team.
